Hi there! I know many of you received a newsletter from me just a short while ago (I typically send four per year on a seasonal/quarterly schedule!), but I have something very exciting to share and wanted you to be the first I’m sharing it with: the U.S. cover of my upcoming novel: I, Medusa.
And so without further ado… here it is.
..
…
….

For those who are new here: I, Medusa is an epic villain origin story that reimagines the infamous Medusa from Greco-Roman mythology as a young Black women caught between rivaling Olympian gods. It is a story of vengeance and betrayal, but I also like to think that it’s a story of hope, redemption, found family, and sisterhood.
I could not be more excited to share this cover. Medusa is both a striking and iconic character in literature, and I’d so hoped for a cover that captured her essence. From the large golden ‘I’ (a nod to the fact that this is her story, from her POV), to the rich colors (coincidentally, green and gold are two of my favorites!), to the intentional details of her face in profile, to the subtle light that touches the top of her, this cover is everything I’d hoped for.
My sincere thanks to Will Staehle at Unusual Co. (Cover Designer) and Greg Mollica at Random House (Art Director) for being so thoughtful in the creation of this work.
I can also officially share that I, Medusa will publish this Fall on November 18, 2024.
You can now preorder I, Medusa from your favorite places to buy books, including (but not limited to) Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Books a Million, Target, and more. As has always been the case, I will always sign copies of any of my books from my local independent bookstore, Wordsworth Books—just indicate that you’d like a signed/personalized copy when you check out!
Final Note: As I’ve said above, this is the U.S. cover for I, Medusa. The U.K. cover will be shared in coming months. It’s not quite finished, but the artist working on it is among my favorites and even the early drafts are truly breathtaking. Like today, I will share a special preview of it with newsletters subscribers, here!
The flowers are beginning to bloom, the days are growing longer, and the birds have started to sing again. Spring is my favorite time of year and I hope yours is wonderful too.
